Via Choralis & Penthelia Singers

I am very fortunate that my first two forays into writing for choir have both won 1st prize in the respective competitions that I wrote them for. My arrangement of Farewell to Nova Scotia for SSAA women's chorus and optional piano accompaniment won the Penthelia Singers Canadian Folk Song Arranging Contest and my original piece for SATB chorus and piano, Asterism IVb, has won 1st place in the Via Choralis 2014 Composition Contest.

Via Choralis, directed by Nicholas Fairbank, will premiere Asterism IVb on Vancouver Island in Sidney, BC on a 730pm evening concert on April 12th and again on a 230pm matinee on April 13th. There is also a $350 award.

The Penthelia Singers will premiere my arrangement of Farewell to Nova Scotia on June 4th as part of their "Tribute to Canadian Folk" concert in Toronto. There is also a $500 award.

I am very grateful that both of these groups have selected my music to be part of their concerts!
