A few updates:

Voice to Voice Project (with the Vancouver Downtown Eastside "Thursday Writing Collective")
My involvement with the "Voice to Voice" Project will soon start to become more rigorous as the project begins to really get underway; in early December we will be receiving texts for perusal from the Downtown Eastside's "Thursday Writing Collective", and then we'll be beginning the process of setting them for eventual premiere & publication later in 2015. More details TBA!

NSTT Special Awards Ceremony (December 16th @130pm, Alderney Landing Theatre, Dartmouth, NS)
I'll be giving a brief talk on my trip to Bandung, West Java, Indonesia this past May, (which was graciously funded in large part by the NSTT), as well as my work in general as a composer of "contemporary art music".

Premiere of "Sawari (さわり)” for solo guitar (December 18th @ CMC Toronto)
Virtuoso Canadian guitarist Rob MacDonald will be premiering my new work for solo guitar that I wrote for him, including works by three other Canadian composers. Potentially the CMC will be setting up a live stream of sorts, for those not in Toronto (like me!); more info on that hopefully soon.

Vancouver Symphony Orchestra reads "Lunar Mansions" (January 21st 2015)
As part of the 2015 Jean Coulthard Readings, the VSO will be reading my newest orchestral work "Lunar Mansions" at the Orpheum in downtown Vancouver. I just finished the parts and will be delivering them to the VSO office tomorrow.

West Coast Composers' Symposium 2015 (Feb.6th '15)
My piece Baroque to Beatbox for piano trio has been selected for premiere at the annual West Coast Composers' Symposium, held this year on Vancouver Island at the University of Victoria. The symposium will be an all-day event of concerts featuring composers of UBC, UVic and SFU.

Commission from Shauna DeGruchy, trombone (UdeM)
I'm so happy to be collaborating with my old trombonist friend Shauna DeGruchy (http://shaunadegruchy.com). The piece is still in the works, but is tentatively sketched for a full septet of flute / clarinet / bassoon / trombone / piano / violin / 'cello (with maybe some doublings or other adjustments down the road). I'm really looking forward to this project - thank you to Shauna for her (as always) innovative programming and unwavering support of new music!
